The 2005 TASSA Annual Conference will take place at the George Washington University, located at 805 21st Street N.W., Washington, D.C. Attendees can rely on the area's taxi, shuttle services and Metro for getting to the meeting. Please refer to the information below when planning your travel to Washington.

  • Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)
  • Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
  • Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI)

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)
By Metro: Upon arriving at the airport, follow signs to the Reagan National Airport Metro Station, which is adjacent to Terminals B and C. A shuttle bus runs between the Metro station and Terminal A, where Alaska Airlines, ATA, Midway Air Lines and Northwest Airlines continue to operate. From the Metro you can take the Blue line train to get to the hotel.

Blue Line – Take the Blue Line in the direction of Addison Road. Get off at Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro Stations. Exit the metro station onto 23rd Street, turn right and walk to the intersection of 23rd and H Streets. At the intersection, turn left and walk east on H Street until you reach the MPA Building, at the corner of 21st and H Streets. Enter on either 21st or H Streets.

By Taxi: Taxicabs are available at the exits of each terminal. A ride from the airport to the hotel takes about 15 minutes, and costs about $15.

By Bus: Super Shuttle (www.supershuttle.com) offers service from DCA to downtown Washington for $10 one-way. However, this is a shared-ride van service, so the shuttle may make several stops before reaching your final destination. When flying into Reagan National we suggest traveling by cab or by Metro.

Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
By Metro: The Washington Flyer Coach (www.washfly.com) provides a convenient link between Washington Dulles International Airport and the West Falls Church Metro station. To travel using this service, purchase a ticket ($8 one way; $18 round trip) from the Ground Transportation Center's ticket counter located inside the vestibule of door 4 on the arrivals level. For your return home, please note that there are no ticketing facilities located at the West Falls Church Metro Station– passengers boarding there without a ticket must purchase their tickets upon arrival at the airport.

When you arrive at the West Falls Church Metro station, purchase a Metro fare card and take the Orange line in the direction of New Carrollton.

Taxi service from the airport to downtown DC is about $45.

By Bus: Super Shuttle (www.supershuttle.com) provides inexpensive ($21 one-way) door-to-door service from the airport to downtown Washington. This is a shared-ride van service, so the shuttle may make several stops before reaching your final destination. Go to the Ground Transportation desk in the baggage claim area to purchase a ticket. Call 1 (800) 258-3826 or go to www.supershuttle.com for reservations or more information.

Baltimore Washington International (BWI)
By Train: Amtrak (www.amtrak.com) and MARC trains provide service to the BWI Rail Station, where free shuttles serve the airport terminal. From the BWI Rail Station, take the train to Washington's Union Station. At Union Station, you can transfer to the Metro Center Station. From Metro Center take either the blue or orange line to the Foggy Bottom-GWU metro stop. Exit the metro station onto 23rd Street, turn right and walk to the intersection of 23rd and H Streets. At the intersection, turn left and walk east on H Street until you reach the MPA Building, at the corner of 21st and H Streets. Enter on either 21st or H Streets.

A cab ride from Union Station to the hotel takes 15 minutes and costs about $12.

By Taxi: Taxicabs are available just outside of the baggage claim area of the Lower Level of the BWI Airport Terminal. Taxi service from the airport to downtown DC is about $60.

By Bus: Super Shuttle (www.supershuttle.com) provides inexpensive ($31 one-way) door-to-door service from the airport to downtown Washington. This is a shared-ride van service, so the shuttle may make several stops before reaching your final destination. Go to the Ground Transportation desk in the baggage claim area to purchase a ticket.
