About the Conference

The second annual conference of the Turkish American Scientists and Scholars Association (TASSA) was held at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, on March 25-26, 2006. The conference theme was Knowledge and Innovation to Benefit Society, and had a vision to establish a forum for many young and experienced American, Turkish, and Turkish-American scientists to explore and develop new collaborative initiatives.

The highlights of the conference are summarized in an email message sent to our membership on April 3rd, 2006. The conference proceedings are available to be mailed to our members free of charge and can also be viewed in PDF format. The contents of the proceedings include the briefs submitted by the speakers, abstracts of the poster presentations, a list of sponsors and some samples of the memorable photographs taken at the conference. Some memorable snapshots as well as a streaming video (courtesy of Turkish-American TV) are also provided for your enjoyment.

This year's conference featured many distinguished speakers and enjoyed large attendance. The conference also provided a venue for strengthening and enhancing the scientific and technological cooperation between the United States and Turkey.
