Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in Biochemistry/Inorganic/Physical Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at Bogazici University (BU) is currently seeking qualified candidates, who can establish a collaborative and innovative research program with strong expertise in the following areas:

1. Biochemistry/Chemical Biology
The field of research is not restricted to, but may include bio-organic chemistry, bio-inorganic chemistry, investigation of protein structure and function mechanisms, and synthetic biology.

2. Inorganic Chemistry
The field of research is not restricted to, but may include energy, catalysis, solar cells, new battery materials, and materials chemistry.

3. Physical Chemistry
The field of research is not restricted to, but may include investigation of the physical chemistry of colloids, surfaces, photonic and energy materials.

The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an independent, internationally recognized research program as well as show commitment to excellence in teaching. The application must contain detailed research and teaching statements. The proposed research must complement/strengthen other research activities at BU. All candidates must have a PhD (or equivalent) degree and post-doctoral research experience. Selection will be based, in part, on a record of research publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals, the ability to obtain extramural funding and the ability to conduct effective teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level.
