TASSA 2018 Poster Presentations

On behalf of the organizing committee, we kindly invite you to submit an abstract for the TASSA 2018 conference that will be held at the Boston University (June 2-3rd, 2018). The biennial conference of TASSA (Turkish American Scientists and Scholars Association) has the broad objective to establish a forum and create a dynamic platform for American, Turkish and Turkish-American scientists and scholars to explore and develop science, innovation and collaboration bridges.

The general theme of the upcoming TASSA 2018 conference will be "Disruptive Ideas and Technologies". Our focus will specifically be on ideas and technologies that will shape our lives in the following decade. To complement the discussions in the panel sessions, we invite principal investigators, research fellows, post-doctoral scientists, and students to present their original work in the following categories:

  • Society-changing disruptive ideas
  • Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities
  • Health, Biotechnology and Life Sciences
  • Economics and Finance
  • Physical Sciences and Engineering

The committee will select 15 original abstracts to be presented as 2-min talks in the lightning session. Presenters, who are selected for the lighting talks will receive recognition and registration waiver.

In addition, we welcome poster presentations given by institutional attendees from universities and institutes that harbor the creation of new ideas and innovative research as well as aim to make societal impact.

Please prepare abstracts using the guidelines listed below and submit by April 23, 2018.

Poster Session Committee will notify authors of abstract acceptances by April 30, 2018.


General Rules and Guidelines for Poster Presentations

  • Poster presentations are initiated by submitting an abstract by April 23, 2018.
  • Each abstract will be reviewed by the Poster Session Committee for (a) scientific content of the research and its relevance, and (b) its adherence to standard formatting rules. Please follow the generally accepted rules of preparation of professional scientific documents for your abstracts and posters. Once the abstract is accepted, the authors will be notified by the Poster Session Committee and receive further information regarding poster presentation rules.
  • Abstract submissions are considered for poster presentations and lighting talks.
  • Abstracts should be submitted via email to poster@tassausa.org. The subject line of the email should read “Abstract for TASSA 2018” and the abstract text should be attached as a PDF file. The PDF attachment must include:
    • Category (choose one category listed above)
    • Full names, affiliations, and email addresses of the authors of the poster
    • Title
    • Abstract (250 words max)
    • One descriptive figure with no caption (optional)
