TASSA met US Science Envoy

US Science Envoy Dr. Susan Hockfield met with Turkish American Scientist and Scholars Association (TASSA) representatives in Washington DC on Fri, April 26, before making her first official visit to Turkey on May 13-17.

The meeting attendees were Dr. Susan Hockfield (US Science Envoy and President Emerita of MIT), Dr. Brian T. Carter (Foreign Affairs Officer, Office of Science and Technology Cooperation), Aprille C. Raabe (Foreign Affairs Officer, Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs), Dr. Haluk Ünal (TASSA President), Dr.  Hasan Ayaz (TASSA Vice President) and Tuğba Güntay (TASSA Managing Director).

During the meeting, current and past TASSA activities were discussed. During the meeting, current and past TASSA activities were discussed. Dr. Hockfield was briefed on TASSA projects such as TASSA-Connect, TASSA-WISESS, and TASSA-Academy. Dr. Hockfiled provided valuable insights on these projects and advised TASSA to share experience gained from these projects with other science diasporas in the United States.
