New Fellowship Program launched by TUBITAK to support Mobility of Experienced Researchers

TUBITAK BIDEB announced a new program called "CO-FUNDED Brain Circulation Scheme (Co-Circulation Scheme)" to increase the international mobility of the experienced researchers and attract research talents to "Turkish Research Area"  http://www.cocirc.tubitak.gov.tr

This program is a great opportunity for researchers based in the US and planning to continue their career in Turkey.

Approximately 25 fellowships/year will be funded for the next five years. The deadline for the first call is September 7th, 2012, at 6:00 pm (EEST/Turkey local time).

Eligibility criteria: 

  • Proposals should involve an academic or industrial host institution located in Turkey and a research scientist of any nationality from a respective institution
  • Experienced researchers possessing doctoral degrees or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experiences are eligible to apply.
  • The researchers must not have resided in Turkey for more than 12 months in the last three years.
  • The applicants, who are currently supported by any of BÄ°DEB programs and/or working in Turkey, are not eligible to apply.
  • Researchers planning to continue their career in Turkey permanently (or at least long term) should apply this program.
  • The duration of the project should be 20-24 months

The gross salary for the fellow will be 4167 € for the experienced researchers with less than 10 years of experience and 4792 € for the senior researchers with more than 10 years of experience.
