TASSA is proud to share the news that The National Academy of Engineering (NAE) elected Prof. Ali Galip Ulsoy from the University of Michigan as a member to the Academy. The February 10, 2006 announcement recognized 76 new members and nine foreign associates for their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research. As the NAE Web site indicates "Election to the National Academy of Engineering is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer. Academy membership honors those who have made outstanding contributions to engineering research, practice, or education, including, where appropriate, significant contributions to the engineering literature, and to the pioneering of new and developing fields of technology, making major advancements in traditional fields of engineering, or developing/implementing innovative approaches to engineering education."

Our esteemed colleague Ali Galip Ulsoy is the William Clay Ford Professor of Manufacturing at the University of Michigan , Ann Arbor . NAE recognized Dr. Ulsoy for his research on the dynamics and control of axially moving elastic materials and their implementation in automotive and manufacturing systems. (NAE Web site) More detailed information about Dr. Ulsoy s research work is provided here.
