  • The Department of Architecture, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Economics, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering at Abdullah Gul University (AGU) invites applications for multiple faculty positions to begin September 2014. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. degree in a related field, and will be considered for positions at all academic ranks (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor).   • For The Department of Architecture: The Department seeks candidates with a strong background in architectural design fields, architectural theory, architectural history, preservation, building science, building technology and computer based architectural design; however, other research areas will also be considered. Candidates must have teaching experience in architecture. Prior postdoctoral experience is desirable, but not required. 
  • For The Department of Business Administration: Candidates are expected to have expertise in one or more of the following areas: Business management, marketing, accounting, finance, production and operations management, entrepreneurship, business law, business communications, and international management; however, candidates in other areas will also be considered.
  • For The Department of Civil Engineering: Candidates are expected to have expertise in one or more of the following areas: Geotechnics and Ground Improvement, Hydraulics, Transportation, Construction Management, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering and Materials; however, other research areas will also be considered.
  • For The Department of Computer Engineering: Candidates are expected to have a strong background in computer science and engineering. The department particularly welcomes candidates with research interests in parallel programming, mobile communications, algorithms, high performance information retrieval, computer and information security, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computer networks. However, candidates in other areas will also be considered.
  • For The Department of Economics:  Candidates are expected to have expertise in one or more of the following areas: Microeconomics, macroeconomics, financial economics, development economics, econometrics, finance, industrial organization, political economy, and international economics; however, other research areas will also be considered.
  • For The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering: Candidates are expected to have expertise in one or more of the following areas: Power engineering, wired and wireless communication and networking, telecommunications, fiber-optic and optoelectronics, microwave and antennas, radio science and engineering, information  engineering, biomedical engineering, robotics, mechatronics, microelectronics, circuits & systems, signal processing, pattern recognition, control & instrumentation, automatic control, embedded systems, smart living environment; however, other research areas will also be considered.

Successful candidates will be expected to initiate and maintain externally funded research programs, be committed to teaching excellence and student mentorship at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and be involved in service to the university and profession. At the Assistant Professor level, applicants are expected to demonstrate exceptional academic credentials and promise for a distinctive career in research. At higher ranks, evident track record of research accomplishments, including successful research funding, is expected. Particularly attractive is demonstrable ability or interest to initiate interdisciplinary research and university-industry collaborations.
