TASSA Visited Ambassador H.E. Namık Tan

Turkish American Scientists and Scholars Association (TASSA) President Prof. Dr. Haluk Ünal, Board Members Prof. Dr. Füsun Özgüner and Prof. Dr Turgay Ertekin and Managing Director Tuğba Güntay visited H.E. Namık Tan, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the United States on April 9, 2012 at the Turkish Embassy in Washington DC.

On March 3, Ambassador H.E. Namık Tan attended the TASSA 2012 Conference at the University of Maryland, College Park and gave a speech at the conference. Additionally, Ambassador Namık Tan and Mrs. Fügen Tan generously hosted a reception on the same day at the Turkish Embassy Residence. A large group of scientists and scholars from Turkey and United States attended this reception.

Mr. Tan said that TASSA provides a dynamic platform for American, Turkish and Turkish-American scientists and scholars to facilitate cultural exchanges, enhance learning opportunities and contribute to the global scientific achievements. Mr. Tan also added that the conference will further help this aim by bringing together the brightest Turkish American minds and providing opportunities to share ideas, collaborate making professional and personal connections.

Ambassador Tan emphasized that he supports the activities of TASSA and the conference should be organized every year.
