Faculty of Management at Sabanci University in Istanbul invites applications for academic positions in Marketing, Accounting, and  Operations Management.

  • Full-time Faculty Position in Operations Management

  • We invite applications for full-time faculty positions in Operations Management to start in Fall 2010 semester. Although the rank is open (assistant/associate/full professor), preference will be given to mid-career to senior faculty with strong research and teaching record.

    Sabanci University, a privately funded academic institution, started instruction in 1999 at its new and state-of-the-art campus located in suburban Istanbul.     Faculty of Management offers MBA, executive MBA, Masters in Finance, IT in Management, and doctoral degree programs in Operations Management, Finance, and Organization Studies as well as undergraduate management program. The Masters in Finance (MiF) program has begun in 2008 and is hosted at the Center for Applied Finance Education (CAFE), the Faculty’s state-of-the-art trading room/finance laboratory. The MBA program is very innovative in the Turkish context. The students spend the second year of their studies dealing with a Company Action Project (CAP), which is an intensive program that includes on-site project-driven practice at the partner companies two days a week. In addition, Sabanci University’s Executive Development Unit (EDU) provides opportunities for the development of seminars and certificate programs targeted at the business community.   • We invite applications for full-time or visiting positions in Accounting either immediately for the 2009-2010 or for the 2010-2011 academic years. While pre-doctorate candidates will be considered, the ideal candidate will already possess Ph.D. and a track record of excellence in research and teaching.

    • Sabanci Holding Chair in Marketing Excellence

      The Faculty of Management at Sabanci University in Istanbul is proud to announce the Sabanci Holding Chair in Marketing Excellence.

      The Faculty of Management at Sabanci University in Istanbul is now accepting nominations and applications for the endowed Sabanci Holding Chair in Marketing Excellence. The purpose of the chair is to facilitate the development of excellence in research and teaching in marketing at Sabanci University.

      Applicants should have a proven record of high-quality scholarship as the appointee is expected to take a leading role in research and the mentoring of junior faculty. The individual will also teach in our MBA and executive MBA programs. Since teaching is exclusively conducted in English, a professional command of the English language is required as well as a proven excellence in teaching.

      In addition to creation of knowledge, the chair is also expected to engage in dissemination of knowledge to help the Future Forums program which was initiated to bring Sabanci Holding closer to the academic research in marketing and hence, improve the marketing practice in Sabanci Holding.

      In line with the expectations of significant research outcomes and company outreach, the teaching load is light. The applicant is provided a research budget and assistance for research, teaching and service. Salaries are internationally competitive. The initial appointment is envisioned for five years, but other terms are possible, including visiting appointments for up to two years. The university provides faculty members with housing on campus or a housing stipend.
