About TASSA

Founded in 2004, Turkish-American Scientists and Scholars Association (TASSA) is an independent, non-profit, non-political organization based in Washington, DC. TASSA’s vision is to build a sustainable scientific bridge between the U.S. and Turkey, supporting bilateral scientific advancement through the exchanges of people, knowledge, and technology.

TASSA realizes this vision by promoting educational and scientific exchange, and technological cooperation between science and technology institutions through increased networking among scientists and scholars between these two countries. TASSA also facilitates communication and interaction among U.S.-based Turkish scientists and scholars from various disciplines such as biomedical and physical sciences, social sciences and engineering, and cultivates the next generation of researchers through professional development activities.

TASSA’s flagship activity is its biannual conference, which brings together over 400 Turkish-American scientists from the U.S. and Turkey, and features a job fair targeted for early career scientists and scholars and Young Scholar Awards to recognize and honor their achievements. TASSA also publishes a quarterly newsletter disseminating information on the scholarly work and achievements of Turkish scientists and scholars, which reaches about 5000 contacts in the U.S. and abroad.
