Special General Assembly coming up soon!
Mar 5.10 Dear Friends of TASSA,
We would like to update you on recent developments since our last announcement, dated 21 December 2009, and inform you about the preparations for the upcoming online Special General Assembly.
After approving the report submitted by the Peer Review Panel late last year, the TASSA Board of Directors (BoD) requested the Peer Review Panel to further recruit the candidates for the Transition Team and draft its Terms of Reference. The Peer Review Panel completed its tasks and delivered its recommendations to the BoD by the given deadline on 15 February 2010. Subsequently, the BoD approved on 21 February 2010 these recommended candidates for the Transition Team and their draft Terms of Reference. The proposed names for the Transition Team, the Terms of Reference, and other necessary related actions will be presented to the eligible members at the Special General Assembly as a motion, which will be the only agenda item.
The BoD has approved the appointment of Selcuk Ozgediz as the Chair of the Special General Assembly and Yalcin Sert to lead the IT support for this Assembly which will be carried out online. The BoD has also decided that TASSA regular, overseas, and institutional members who paid their 2009 or 2010 membership dues as of 21 February 2010 be eligible to participate and vote in the Special General Assembly. All types of membership applications and renewals are currently frozen until the announcement of the results of the Special General Assembly.
Please stay tuned for the formal call for the Special General Assembly. This announcement will soon provide the specifics.
Sincerely,
