A Turkish scientist, Prof. Dr. Uğur Şahin, became a partner of PFIZER Inc. to develop a vaccine as part of Global COVID-19 MRNA Vaccine Development Program.
Dr Sahin is the cofounder of the Biopharmaceutical New Technologies (BioNTech) company focusing on next generation immunotherapy for cancer and other serious diseases, located in Germany. Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE collaborated to jointly develop COVID-19 vaccine, initially in the United States and Europe, and scale-up manufacturing capacity to support global supply.
